In My Mailbox #25 & The Hunger Games movie

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren where bloggers show what book they received that week, via mailbox, library, bought, borrowed or any other way. It's a great way to see who's reading what so make sure you head on over and join in!

I got some fab books this week! Here they are:

For review

A Midsummer Tights Dream by Louise Rennison
I wasn't mad about the last book in this series, but it was hilarious :) So I'm looking forward to reading this!

Slide by Jill Hathway
I'm reading this now, IT'S AMAZING!!

Jane Austen Stole My Boyfriend by Cora Harrison
I'm also reading this now, it's really good :) It's such a cute book!

The Killables by Gemma Malley (ARC)
This looks brilliant! I've heard Gemma is a fantastic author, so I'm looking forward to reading this! And the ARC cover is so pretty!

The Secrets of Ordinary Farm by Tad Williams and Deborah Beale
I hadn't heard of this before it turned up, but it sounds interesting, so I'll give it a go!

Borrowed
The Secret Countess by Eva Ibbotson
I have read an Eva Ibotson book before, but my friend told me this is good! Although I'm not really a fan of historical novels... But it has a pretty cover, so... ;)

What did you get in your mailbox?

The Hunger Games movie
Has anybody seen it yet? What did you think? I must admit, although I disliked (and didn't finish) the book, I am really excited for the movie! It looks brilliant! A couple of my friend went the other day, and they both LOVED it. One has read the book and one hasn't, so do you think it will make a difference, me not liking the book? I am going to go see it over the Easter holidays with my sister and mo who haven't read the books either, and I will let you know what I think of it!

Are you excited for the Hunger Games film? Have you seen it, and liked/disliked it? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Eva Ibbotson's books can be hard to get in to but The Secret Countess was one of the few that came easier to me. It is also her books when finished feel the most satisfying.

  3. Gemma Malley is such a good writer - if you like this, check out The Declaration series. So looking forward to this book.

The Secret Countess, for me, is the best of Eva Ibbotson. This and A Song for Summer are her best ones out of the teenage fiction she wrote.

  7. Great books! I've read The Secret Countess and loved it - I hope you do too!
As for The Hunger Games... I've read and absolutely obsessed over them so that's why I'm so hyped about it, but I don't think it will make much difference. If you've read the books you know most of what will happen but if you've not you'll get a couple surprises! ;)

  9. I think you'll like the movie. It wasn't as graphic or depressing. I always prefer the book to the movie, but this was probably the best movie adaptation I've ever seen. I love Jane Austin so I might have to check out that Jane Austin Book! My IMM
