In My Mailbox #4

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi over at The Story Siren, where bloggers show what books they received through their mailboxes, from the library, bought and any other way. It a great way to see who's reading what, so make sure you head over and join in!

Gift

I Am David by Anne Holm
My granny kindly gave me this one :) Thanks granny.  I've heard it's amazing and am eager to read it. I love stories about the war. (My copy actually doesn't have this cover, it is an older version, but I couldn't find a picture of the edition anywhere, so I'm using this one)

Bought

Oceans of Blood by Darren Shan

Yay! Darren is one of my favourite authors EVER, he's amazing, so I was SO excited to get this! But I can't read it because I'm saving it for my holidays in a couple of weeks :(

So that's what I got this week. Not much, but I'm delighted!

What did you get in your mailboxes?

  5. I am David sounds great, I love war stories too! I can't wait to see what you think. Since I have never read a Darren Shan book before, which one(s) do you recommend? :-)

PS. I am having a commentng problem where sometimes it lets me and sometimes it doesn't. So sorry if I don't comment on your blog for a while or don't reply on my own blog!

  6. Rachel - I haven't read Carrie's War, but I want to! Thanks

Lucy - I don't get anything a lot of weeks either! Thanks :)

Jenni - I've been in WHSmith before, we don't have it over here.

TSB - You DEFINITELY should read a Shan book! They're the best!

Zoe - Yeah, war stories are great. If you don't mind some very - er - gruesome scenes, Lord Loss is amazing. It's the first in The Demonata series (about demons, obviously!) But if you don't like horror, try the Saga of Darren Shan - they're about vampires, but they're not the usual vampire books, they came out years ago, and they're brilliant!

Comments make my day :)

This is an award-free zone, sorry but I just don't have the time to pass them on! Thanks for thinking of me anyway :)
