I didn't think Fins Are Forever could live up to the amazingness that was Forgive My Fins, but I was surprised and delighted to find that it did! I can't choose which one I like the most though, they are both brilliant! Fins Are Forever is less about Lily and Quince's relationship, and more about Lily's cousin Dosinia, whom I loved! She could be a bit mean sometimes, but she was truly a nice (enough) person inside. She was in the last book only a little, and I wanted to see more of her, so I was delighted that she was one of the main characters here. She was sarcastic and funny, and made things really interesting! Dosinia was a fantastic new character, my favourite in this book, (well, after Quince of course!) and I hope we get to see even more of her in future books.
The story was a lot more eventful in Fins Are Forever and there were lots of twists, and a good few interesting sub-plots. I wasn't expecting a lot of what happened in the book, and really enjoyed reading it! I completely didn't expect what happened in the end, I was so surprised! The author made us think one thing was going to happen, but instead something completely different did! I was like 'woah'! I can't wait to see what happens next, but I have ages to wait till the next book comes out! I don't think it even has a set UK release date! Boohoo :(
As usual, Tera's writing was fab. I just couldn't put Fin Are Forever down! I don't know how she does it! I'm just glad that she does ;) This book is seriously just a pure pleasure to read! I don't know why this series isn't more popular! I hope it becomes so soon, because it darn well deserves it!
Lily was a lot more mature and wise in this book. I think she is a great role model for young teens reading this book. And Quince was amazing, as always :)
My only teeny tiny complaint is that, I felt that, at the start, Lily kept going on and on about Brody. Not in an 'I love him so much' way, but a 'yes, I used to like him, but don't any more' way. I have no problem with her mentioning that once or twice, but she said it about 10 times, pointing things out about how much she didn't love him anymore, and it just annoyed me a lot! But then she stopped and everything was good again! *Phew* It was just that little thing I didn't like, though, everything else was brilliant :)
I can't recommend this series, and this book, enough! If you haven't read it yet, WHY NOT?!!! YOU MUST! YOU MUST! *calms self down* Anyway... :) I think Fins Are Forever will be enjoyed more by a slightly younger audience, but I'm not saying that it won't appeal to the older teen market too, becasue it will. I think pretty much all ages, and all people, will love it! So, go on, - do me a favour - read it!!!

ReplyDeleteOH WOW, I love this series!!! This book was Crabbtastic!! In Fins are Forever the story continues right where Forgive My Fins left off with Lily being madly in love with Quince but deciding that she is interested in giving up her crown in Thalassinia as future queen to stay as a human on land forever with her boyfriend Quince and seek out college and a new life.
